About
Jim Lutz makes music, mainly with trombones, bass guitars, and keyboards, in the greater NYC area. He composes and produces music for clients around the world, and for his YouTube channel, Twitch livestream, Patreon page, and other outlets. Current work includes Beetlejuice 1st National Tour, Beginnings Chicago Tribute Band, and Brian Kirk & the Jirks. Originally from central Michigan, Jim has appeared on stages, in recording studios, and in broadcast media in dozens of cities around the world including London, Paris, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and of course New York. His credits include Cirque du Soleil, Disney, and the TONY® and EMMY® award-winning production "Blast!"

Since 2007, Jim has worked for Cirque du Soleil, playing trombones, keyboards, sound effects, and serving in leadership and technical roles on productions including Kooza (World Tour, 2007-2015), Paramour on Broadway (NYC, 2016-17), Paramour das Musical (Hamburg, Germany, 2019), and Twas The Night Before (NYC, 2019).
Jim earned a master's degree in jazz studies at the University of Southern California while serving as a teaching assistant. He also earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Central Michigan University.
